TYYA B introduces new dreamy pop – trap sensation POTION, that marks the release of her debut EP with the same name. The song represents two contrasting viewpoints on love and life, two different realities. And the question arises: Can they merge together? Just for a moment? Or can they at least balance each other out?

Let TYYA B and KeyLow take you on a futuristic new ride with the themes of love, life and expansion, to find out!

What’s the story behind this single?

I wanted to portray some kind of ideal, extremely devoted relationship between two people and do this as light and positive as possible and maybe also a bit humorous, since the theme of love is quite exaggerated. But it’s not just about love and adoration, doing affectionate things for each other. This song also expresses the desire to experience the enjoyment of manifestation and expanding your consciousness. You cannot do this all by yourself, in isolation. You have to go out and find some friends, at least. I think it’s so fun to experience all this with another person and that’s what the story is all about.

What made you want to write this?

Interesting question. Well, I think I just like to dwell into different characters and perceptions of reality. It’s for me a way to learn something new and also to inspire different thinking in myself and others or maybe even connect in that way with some elements of myself and other people. I’m so non strategic about the process of writing and creating. Basically I’m the opposite, I just really go with the flow, with the inspiration. I don’t ever know where the path is gonna lead me. And a lot of the time I’m inspired not just by music or melodies, but also by the visual pictures in my mind of how something should look. And then It slowly evolves in coming all together, music and the visuals.

What’s the main message behind it?

I think the main message of the song is that everything is possible if you are willing to take a chance on something, let this be a relationship or just life in general. If you’re open enough to trust, learn, love again and also be yourself, be authentic on that journey you can manifest life you desire and in a way also expand your consciousness.

How did the video come together?

When the song was recorded, but still in a demo state, which was about more than a half a year, I slowly started envisioning the screenplay. That was even before KeyLow recorded a verse. I bought some stuff for the video, wrote a screenplay and after that I contacted Limerence films, because I’ve seen some of his previous work, which I really liked and thought he would be a great fit for this style of music. We connected through Instagram and then on the set he added some ideas of his own into the project also and took it to another level. In the video, I wanted to present two different realities, two contrasting viewpoints on life, that have the possibility to merge or maybe just balance each other out, understand each other. We did this by using different lights, settings and of course two different characters.

What are the main themes of your visual storytelling when you come up with your visuals?

Till now, as I see it, it was always something different. I try to create the character, the vibe, the story and then put that into the screenplay. Most of my projects are DIY, so I have that in mind when I’m writing the story and thinking about the production. And then I just go with the flow and my intuition every time I start writing and making the song. It all comes together in the creative process.

What were some genres, records or artists that brought you up artistically?

Such a variety of genres and artists, for real. My family loved music, my father and brother were also musicians, so I was introduced to music really early. From the men’s side of the family it was mostly old rock, grunge and hip hop and then my mother introduced me to some classical music and pop ballads. Later I discovered jazz, soul and r&b and fell in love with those genres too. I love almost every genre of music, that just feels good to me in that specific moment. And I think that reflects in my music.

What inspired the production and sonic aspect of this track?

I could say maybe psy-trap and also trap-pop for sure. We used psychedelic synths with a trap beat and I specifically used autotune on my voice on that song. I wanted it to sound very minimalistic but still kind of full and spacey.

What are your plans for 2025?

To explore, try different things, be more vulnerable in my art, also be more free as an artist and authentic, collaborate with other dope artists and have fun while doing all it.
