Since “I AM WOMAN” which garnered over 300 million streams and sparked a feminist movement in 2022. — Emmy has shared the stage with Fletcher and Hayley Kiyoko and graced major festivals like Lollapalooza and Firefly Music Festival in 2022.  Her music has appeared in ad campaigns for Intimissimi, Triumph UK, Savage Fenty, Brutal Fruit (Spritzer) and Disney+. Uproxx just named her as one of the “Best Bets For Best New Artist At The 2025 Grammys.”

How have you changed personally and artistically since the enormous success of I AM WOMAN?

Wow what an amazingly nuanced question whose answer could be as long as an essay in MLA format. To answer in fewer words or less I’ll say personally, I have done massive amounts of healing which has made me a softer person- which I think is the bravest and strongest thing anyone who has been through a lot in early life can do, allow themselves to go through the pain and darkest parts of themselves, to really FEEL, in order to be whole and live without walls or boundaries. I genuinely think I have become a smarter, more efficient, more organized, and more well-rounded person as well; if anything just from learning to run a business and changing my priorities towards living a life of peace. Artistically, my personal changes have been a huge influence. Getting to know myself and step into my full potential as a woman and leader without boxes has catapulted me into my favorite creative space yet. Focusing on hobbies instead of drinking or partying, learning more about the world, and even being celibate for a while allowed me to harness untapped parts of my spiritual/sexual energy. I am now creating music that transcends genres and self-imposed limitations.

What’s special about this new track for you?

First of all, just the fact that it’s the first track I´ve put out in two years is special in and of itself. On top of that, though, after the tumultuous upturning of my life following I Am Woman, this was the first song I made that truly made me feel like dancing. It made me feel fucking good about myself and I loved that after everything I went through in the last two years I could put something out that feels light enough to dance around to, to scream in your car to, and to say fuck you to someone who hurt you. It was only about six months after I Am Woman that we wrote this song, so it’s been a long time coming. Lots more where that came from.

Tell us more about some ex virgo stories haha

Oh my god…All I’ll say is that man was so untrustworthy. I used to have sleepovers with my friends and one of them had his location so we followed him to some random ass park at 2 am. Hundreds of more stories where that came from.

you shared the stage with Fletcher and Hayley Kiyoko. What was it like?

It was an honor, truly, just to share the stage and be welcomed by two women who have followed their own path and marched to the beat of their own drum in this industry and in life. Women in music are inspiring to me on all fronts.

What have you learned from them?

I learned a lot about organizing a tour, building stamina while on the road and how to treat your opening acts!!

Who are some of your idols and inspirational artists and people?

Victoria Monet, Lauryn Hill, Dinah Washington, Lady Gaga, Barbara Lewis, Minnie Ripperton, etc.

What can we expect after Breakthrough?

A whole ass EP!!!!!
