Soulful powerhouse RaRa’s acclaimed new single ‘Sweet Hurricane’ is out now. RaRa, formerly known as Raquel Reno, is known for drawing inspiration from soul classics such as Aretha Franklin, Dusty Springfield, Whitney Houston and her music perfectly reflects it as ‘Sweet Hurricane’ wants to take the listener back to the golden era of soul music.
Co-written with chart-topping songwriting partners Emily Phillips and Ant Whiting, “Sweet Hurricane” is about the tension between two lovers leading up to an argument. There’s an awkwardness when you both want to get something off your chest. Despite the chaos, there’s an element of enjoying that volatility in love, much like a hurricane.” RaRa explains.
While among her co-writing collaborations we find names such as John Fortis (producer of Ellie Goulding’s mega hit ‘How Long Will I Love You’), Paul O’Duffy (co-writer of the incredible song ‘Wake Up Alone’ on Amy Winehouse’s Back To Black album), Ant Whiting (co-writer of John Newman’s #1 hit ‘Love Me Again’), and James Reynolds, who has worked with artists such as Dua Lipa and Paloma Faith.
RaRa recently transitioned towards being a fully independent artist and is fully determined to take full control of her career. To honor her commitment to independence she even established her own record label, Reno Records.
