You went from a cocky anthem like D pic to a more tender track like Nuestra Cancion. Do you want to show your soft side or what made you take this direction?

Ooooh that’s a good question. I’m super excited about this new side of me that I’m showing. This is definitely my vulnerable side and the whole record represents the stages of a break up. Each song that has come out is a different stage but ‘Nuestra Cancion’ has more of a closure feel to it. I love this song because you can dance to it while completely embracing this liberating feeling of finally letting go

The track is intimate but electric and powerful at the same time. What inspired this arrangement?

When I went to the studio I wanted to write my version of Dancing On My own by Robyn. I needed to convey a tender and more intimate message over a banger track basically and that’s exactly how it came out. The Lyrics are very conversational and relatable but the production is super dancy and uptempo. It’s the perfect combination!

Who is this song for? What kind of person did you have in mind when you wrote it?

This is for all of us who get into a relationship knowing that that person is wrong for you but somehow stay instead of breaking it off right away. You really want to make that person your person but deep down you know that can’t happen. It’s something everyone goes through at some point and it’s important because it teaches you about yourself and lets you understand what you really want and especially what you deserve.

I called this song Nuestra Cancion because we all have a song that reminds us of that particular person and I remember once I was in a hotel lobby and that song was playing. I felt a punch in my stomach and instantly realized that I needed to write a song about it.

Your music videos are always eye-catching and elaborate. What kind of storyline and vibe did you want to portray on this one?

I wanted this video to be on the artsy side. I wanted something subtle but high fashion and stylish which you can see in the styling and make up. I was very inspired by the movie Romeo and Juliet from 1996 and Madonna in her Like a Prayer era. I wanted the drama but I wanted to give it a Pop flair.

Where do you see your act going in the next few years? Anything you want to tap into sonically or otherwise?

I wanna travel, make more music, connect with more people, perform in front of new crowds and everything in between. I’m focusing on releasing this album now but I’m already looking forward to writing another one!

The latin scene keeps growing and growing. What’s the best thing about being a latin artist in your opinion?

Latin music is the best thing in the World right now. It’s definitely happening as a genre but it’s also my roots. I’m from Puerto Rico and love my people. Living in Miami is so great too because it’s such a rich blend of cultures which keeps me inspired. I’m also proud of being a Latin woman in the industry. We are carving a bigger and bigger space in this industry and that’s how it needs to be.

What do you  have in the works for 2023? Anything you can anticipate?

I’m going to be playing at some amazing festivals this year which is really exciting because it is my first time performing a full set at a festival. The record will come out this year and that’s just amazing to think about
