Sionán is a fashion stylist & creative director originally from Ireland but now based in NYC and this is what she told MUNDANE when we asked her about her story

“I must be honest and confess that when I started I didn’t really know what building a concept meant. Let alone developing it. I dabbled in fashion when I was living in Ireland but it was only when I moved to NYC that I really found a creative outlet, populated by an amazing community of like minded people!”

Sionan grew up in rural Ireland and unfortunately the fashion scene started feeling a little tight pretty soon

“There are a lot of people doing great things in Ireland but unfortunately there aren’t that many so you end up running out of people to work with really fast. That’s why moving to NYC was the best decision I’ve ever made!”

One of the first things Sionan learned was how to “tell a story with your work. This is crucial! You need to be able to communicate a powerful message through your work, otherwise what is the point?”

Sionán ’s strong visuals and storytelling is still at a developing stage as she humbly admits however “while I’m still learning and growing my network and improving my skills, my advice to anyone who wants to take a step into the industry is to do a LOT of research and look for the people who you think are on your wavelength and hit them up. You need to know who are the creatives you want to work with and go after them!”
