For your brand new fans, what’s your backstory?
I started out a shy lil’ 18 yr old who got kicked out of school and met a couple of awesome band mates and we started uploading my music and covers to YouTube and here we are.
What have you always hoped for your music to communicate to your audience?
I’ve always hoped my music would communicate confidence, happiness and could make my fans feel heard!
Where does your inspiration typically emerge from?
I find inspiration everywhere in everything! Could be a great movie, a conversation with a friend that makes me think! Anything that makes me feel basically! I’m a daydreamer so I feel like I’m always over fantasizing about my life then I can express it however I want! It’s beautiful!
Who do you look up to today?
I look up to a lot of people today!! Madonna, Jordan Peel, Kehlani, Bo Burnham, Miley Cyrus, Zendaya, Dolly Parton, Jessie Reyez, Eminem!
I could go on and on! I’m just a fan of all of them and take so much inspiration from all of their authenticity! Talented and thought provoking is my shit!!
Can you tell me what “I Think I’m God” means to you?
“I think I’m god” means a fuck ton to me! I really leaned into my confidence so it’s like a straight up example and proof for me to keep going.
Who directed the music video and did you collaborate on the direction?
Andy Oceans was the director for the video. We collaborated from the start and the minute I would bring an idea, he knew exactly how to bring it to life and then some! It was amazing and I’ll definitely be working with him on future videos!
Where are some of your biggest goals as an artist?
My biggest goals are things like releasing multiple albums (I’ll be recording my 1st album in Nashville this summer) , touring the world, eventually becoming so well known that even aliens know who Andiecase is. My main goal is to continue what I’m doing forever.
What’s your favorite lyric you’ve ever written?
My favorite lyric I’ve ever written has to be “maybe you don’t like that I was born this way”
Was there ever a moment when you felt like giving up?
I think every artist questions themselves, especially when you start comparing your journey it’s easy to feel like you’re not good enough to do what you want. I used those feelings as motivation to get better but I can honestly say from the bottom of my heart I’ve never ever wanted to give up. There’s never been a back up plan. Giving up isn’t an option
What is the best advice you’ve ever gotten?
The best advice I’ve ever gotten was to just enjoy the ride and find happiness in the journey. When you’re starting out you feel like there’s some special place that you are working towards to “make it” but that can take away all the awesomeness that you are doing in the moment. It helped me stop dissociating so often and realize that I’m already where I want to be.
