Everything’s on fire on the artistic path of Francesca Morello, aka R.Y.F.. To be released on vinyl and digital on 7 October 7th, 2022 via Bronson Recordings, Tutto Brucia (Music From The Motus Show) is the original soundtrack composed by R.Y.F. for the homonymous new theatrical show by the acclaimed Motus theater company by Daniela Nicolò and Enrico Casagrande (MDLSX, Panorama, NELLA TEMPESTA), that sees her as protagonist on stage – on songs and live music – together with Silvia Calderoni and Stefania Tansini.
What inspired this release?
This release is the OST of “Tutto Brucia”, a theatrical show of Motus, an international avant garde theatre company, in which I play the guitar and sing on stage with Silvia Calderoni and Stefania Tansini. We all had the idea that it would be great to impress the show on vinyl, as a work of art, as a sound media that could have its own life besides the show, but that will always be tightly bound with it. So the show itself is the inspiration together with the journey we all are doing together – the directors Daniela Nicolò and Enrico Casagrande, Silvia and Stefania and Demetrio Cecchitelli who provides the amazing sound-landscape, Ilena Caleo for the dramaturgy and the technicians of course.
What makes you stand out to as an artist in your opinion?
I think I’m an artist because I’m happy only when I sing and I play, I’m happy when I’m on a stage even if sometimes it is scary. I’m an artist because I need to say things through music, show what I see and show my feelings, be angry and fight patriarchy, descrimination, violence and denial of human rights.
What’s your view on the Italian independent and alternative music scene?
You can’t have a single point of view on something so chameleonic. There is a lot of good music in Italy, and most of it is unknown by most of the people, because variety is not characteristic of Italian main radios for example, I’m not talking about small independent good radios which survive thanks to the web. Indie has become a synonym of something that has nothing to do with DIY and that is sad. I think the scene in Italy, the real independent one, is like a big family, a network of people who believe in music and live for it, besides the popularity.
