Queer LA-based trio senses are back with an addictive pop-rock cut “Sleepwalking,” out everywhere today.

This song is so important for us to release right now because we feel like it’s so easy to just keep going through the motions of everyday life and not even realize you’re on autopilot,” states frontwoman Madison Taylor. “We want people to listen to this song and be taken out of that routine and just escape with us. It’s like we get to hit a reset button and not be so worried about what we should or shouldn’t be doing.”

What’s your story as an artist?

We are 3 friends that met on craigslist to start a band.  We love big sounding catchy hooks and rocking out on stage.

Any funny anecdotes from the time you were recording or writing this?

Not so much during writing, but during the filming of the video for sleepwalking, it ended up being the HOTTEST day of the year in SoCal and we were inside of a big metal box with no AC, haha.  Needless to say we drank A LOT of water that day!  Thanks to our amazing crew who was with us that day, we were still able to get everything done and get out of there ahead of schedule!

Do you get inspired by other art forms?

I love taking inspiration from other art forms. I personally love art galleries because they get you thinking in a way that I wouldn’t normally think.  Not to mention I find that such an incredible talent that I do not possess and I really respect that form of visual art.  I also take a lot of inspiration from movies and shows. I’ve always been a huge cinema fan and I’ve written a lot of songs based on how a really intense movie has left me feeling at the end of it. I always challenge myself to watch things I wouldn’t normally because they allow me to tap into my emotions in such a spontaneous way.

What’s your favorite place or environment to write?

I love to write honestly under my desk in my room. I have this little amp that I can change the sounds for and I usually mess around with that sitting on my floor and trying to come up with little melodies to the guitar parts. I use a notebook because I’m kinda old school that way and I like to physically write down my ideas. That or it’s usually at around 3 am when I’m woken up by an idea and need to sneak off into the bathroom to whisper and sing whatever idea would cause me not to sleep.  We also have written a lot of songs at Josh’s studio just jamming out and messing around and then after a while it becomes this fully completed song. I love that too because we’re all in it from the start and can mold it however we want with our own little twists.

What inspired this last release?

The pandemic was definitely a factor. Also just living life on autopilot. We live in a world where we are constantly told what to wear, what to look like, what to do and what not to do. This is kind of a wake up to that realization.

What’s a record that shaped your creativity?

A record that has shaped our creativity would have to be Waterpark’s Fandom album. It’s just got everything you could want. Massive hooks and drums. High energy and really just in your face.
