Known for their ethereal soundscapes and mesmerising live shows, EP’s latest single ‘projections’ follows the meditative ‘every day is a game’ released last month, continuing Night Tapes’ hot streak after the stunning early 2024 single ‘loner’, plus a 2023 that included the release of their third EP Perfect Kindness, and a tour of the UK and Europe spanning Vienna, London, Bristol, Brighton, Manchester, Copenhagen, Paris and Tallinn. 2024 is shaping up to be the trio’s biggest year yet, with their Spotify following growing by over 50% to nearly 30k, over two millions streams for late 2023 single ‘drifting’ as well as support from BBC Radio 1, and monthly listeners peaking at over half a million with 1.7m streams.
Night Tapes started out as evening jams between housemates Max Doohan, Sam Richards and Iiris Vesik in London. Nighttime in London, genre-blending, multi-fidelity recordings and honest reflection contribute to their atmospheric soundscapes that ultimately make for fresh and envelope pushing dream pop. Night Tapes take inspiration from both their lived experience in the world that they can see and touch, as well as the less tangible spiritual and metaphysical realm.
