Our old friend MIVA is back with a new track ‘Beneath My Feet’ and we asked her all about it:

“I really wanted to tap into my young self growing up on 2000s Hip-Hop with ‘’BENEATH MY FEET’’ Production-wise I wanted to make it as fun as possible! The type of music I’d tap on the cafeteria desk during lunchtime, you know ahahaha.

I was on a very Rick ‘’Rubinesque’’ approach on this one, I cut a lot of unnecessary stuff in order to make the patterns, flow and what I’m saying extremely clear and present.

Writing-wise it was one of those moments when I literally recorded myself on my iPhone while just letting it flow. It was one of those moments when time and air stops and you just jump in the booth right away while writing it. I wanted to talk about the fierceness, hard work and enjoyment of life and beautiful things. I can be obsessed with shoes and also produce and write a song from A to Z.

I left the gibberish iPhone -intro part because I wanted my listeners to be able to be part of that magic moment because that’s what music is by the end of the day. People are able to connect on a higher level with each other. I’m just a receiver of vibrations, and I so happened to find and learn the tools that help me deliver it into the world. A. Truly fascinating process if you ask me, hahaha.

For the music video, I basically wanted to shoot a day through life but through my eyes, and the way that I see things, or

things that I think about. It was also the first time I’ve ever directed a music video. Angle, color scale and just feel wise I wanted to almost shoot out like a movie. Clean steady cuts and just visually pleasing color schemes. I also included some of my lm photography love in it, so it was definitely a beautiful creative experience.”
