Any life experiences inspired you to write this song in particular?

You know those nights out where you probably aren’t going home till the next day cause you’re in a dangerous mood. Those are the nights that inspired me to write this song. It’s about that moment on the dance floor when you lock eyes with a lover,  there’s that instant connection, and you just know that it’s gonna be a wild night.

What inspired the production and sonic aspect of this track?

In Toronto there’s this warehouse 131 McCormack that has all the house/techno girls in a chokehold right now. The venue definitely inspired part of the sonic aspect of the track: the acoustics and the sexually charged energy.

Ballroom and voguing also played a major role in the production of the track. I made sure I added a crash so the girls could vogue down and I also wanted it to feel super sexy. Sex siren and Performance are the 2 categories I walk.

How does this track fit into your upcoming EP?

My EP is called “Pleasure but Pain” and it’s about exploring the unknown. It’s about my experiences discovering a queer underground music scene, exploring the sexual side of me and overcoming my struggles with DL men. There’s a lot of pleasure that comes out of dating and partying, but also a lot of pain. Especially when you want to be with another person that doesn’t accept themselves. Sexy House Music is definitely a part of the pleasure side of the EP.

What are your plans for 2025?

To fully step into my artistry and be unapologetic about it. That starts with releasing the EP. I’ve been holding on to this project for awhile and it’s time for people to hear the original pure sounds of EyeofPsi.
