Meet R&B artist Treasure Bloom (fka Treasure) who has just dropped his new single “Stay Safe”.  The UK-based singer-songwriter and multi instrumentalist is showing us his emporium of talent in the new release. “Stay Safe” is the anthem for self-protection inspired by the hit BBC series “The Serpent”. With a plethora of experimental fusions combining R&B and heavy 808 pulses, the result is a kaleidoscopic lo-fi aura.

Tell us about the genesis of your project. How did you get to where you are now?

Through trial and error. I wish I could give you a dazzling story about this creation but it’s just an array of feelings I’ve tried to give musical form to.

How would you describe the highs and lows of being an artist?

I tend to be meandering between the high and low points often these days. The highs include getting into a flow state producing a piece of music you truly enjoy but the lows usually hit when real life gets in the way of doing that. I create art sporadically, but always find it hard to sell myself as a product online.

What’s a musical guilty pleasure of yours?

The Miley Cyrus Ep, “The Time of Our Lives”

What are some sources of inspiration for you?

Anime, a clear blue sky and sticky toffee pudding.

Who is an artist that you look up to more than others today?

Playboi Carti, he’s the second coming of Christ…

Favorite activity to blow off some steam?

Lately, I’ve just been running.

Tell us about your latest release and how it came about?

I already had its skeleton after the release of my previous EP “Nostalgia: The Prelude”. I sampled my track Enjoy the Ride (Free), creating a darker atmosphere for “Stay Safe”.tracks .

What’s the future looking like for you?

Quiet, I’ve got some soul searching to do.

What inspires your visuals, videos, looks etc

I like to mix a lot of soft elements with the dark. I’m in love with juxtaposition.

What is the most embarrassing memory and most proud moment of your career so far ?

Most embarrassing: Releasing my first “album” glad it’s off the Net….

Most proud: My first BBC radio 1XTRA play. Couldn’t believe that Jamz Supernova had taking the time to listen to a song of mine.

What is the best advice you’ve ever gotten?

Stop comparing yourself to others.
