In spirallore, Berlin artist benzii explores the spiral as a universal symbol of change, growth, and transformation—concepts that deeply resonate with coming of age. It’s all about experiencing life’s “firsts”: sweaty palms, falling in love, your first club night and afterparty, heartbreak, and eventually outgrowing people and places—the shaky journey of your twenties. spirallore weaves together subcultural movements like new wave, indie sleaze, breakbeats, and techno-pop, creating something that perfectly captures the current Berlin Zeitgeist.

beine spüren combines club beats with dreamy escapism, inspiring the urge to pack your bags and run toward a new chapter. This track, which explores the emotional complexity of breaking free from old spaces, also marks benzii’s first release in her native German.Over time, beine spüren has become one of her most popular tracks, receiving airplay on stations like BR Puls, Radio Fritz, and 1Live. Co-produced with Jinka, it’s complemented by a remix from Paul Seul, founder of Casual Gabberz. The original track opens the EP, and the remix closes it, creating a loop—like a spiral going for another spin, symbolizing the theme of the record.

“I really fell in love with the spiral motif as a symbol of change, growth, and transformation. It’s so coming of age. It’s so early twenties for me: experiencing life’s “firsts”: sweaty palms, falling in love, your first club night and afterparty, heartbreak, and eventually outgrowing people and places. I wanted to create something that captures this raw, unpolished experience – something that feels truly authentic. That’s also why it’s bilingual, in both German and English -two languages I think and speak in daily.”
