Carrie’s method is truly unique – combining high intensity interval training, strength training, cardio and pilates into one dynamic, sweat-drenched workout. It is a holistic approach that’s not only physically challenging but also incredibly rewarding. She founded Carrie’s Pilates not just as a business, but as a platform to empower individuals, particularly women, to take control of their health and wellness.
The founder of Carrie’s Pilates opens up about mental health, the power of movement, and building a cult-favorite fitness brand with heart.
You’ve built an incredibly unique fitness method with Carrie’s Pilates—what inspired you to fuse Pilates with high-intensity training, strength, and cardio into one dynamic experience?
When I first fell in love with Pilates, I loved how it sculpted my body—but I craved something with a bit more fire. I wanted to sweat, shake, and feel completely transformed. So I started experimenting, blending the precision of Pilates with strength training moves, cardio bursts, and high-intensity intervals. It was efficient, empowering, and addicting. That fusion became the foundation of the Carrie’s Method and now it’s our signature.
You’ve been open about your own journey overcoming adversity, from dropping out to struggling with mental health. How did fitness become a turning point in your personal transformation?
Fitness saved me. I was at a low point mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. When I started doing Pilates, I was just trying to get in shape. But what I found was a kind of therapy. Moving with intention helped quiet my anxiety. Gaining physical strength gave me emotional stability. That’s when I realized this wasn’t just about fitness. It was about healing.
Carrie’s Pilates isn’t just about physical strength—it’s about mental resilience too. How do you see the intersection between physical fitness and mental health in your clients’ lives?
You can see it in their eyes after class…something clicks. Our clients come in carrying stress, heartbreak, insecurity. And they leave taller, calmer, and more confident. I think when you push your body, you remind yourself you can handle hard things. It’s about building resilience, physically, yes, but emotionally too. That’s the magic.
From modeling for luxury brands like Valentino and Versace to running a growing fitness empire—how did that leap from fashion to fitness shape your perspective as an entrepreneur?
Modeling taught me how to hold myself with confidence, but it also made me hyper-aware of how unrealistic beauty standards can be. When I transitioned into fitness, I knew I wanted to create something different—glamorous but grounded. A brand that celebrates real strength. Real sweat. Real stories. So much of entrepreneurship is about trusting your vision, even when it doesn’t fit the mold. Building my brand has given me great purpose.
Scaling from one West Hollywood studio to franchise locations in Dallas, Toronto, and beyond is no small feat. What’s been the most surprising lesson about leadership or growth in that journey?
That you can’t do it alone. I used to think I had to be in control of everything. But growth only happens when you build a team that shares your values and trusts your mission. Letting go a little and empowering others was scary, but it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.
You’ve created a space that celebrates inclusivity and community. What does it mean to you to build a fitness brand that welcomes all bodies, backgrounds, and abilities?
It means everything. I’ve seen what it feels like to walk into a studio and not feel welcome and I never want anyone to feel that here. We celebrate strength in all forms. Whether you’re an athlete, a beginner, recovering from something physical or emotional, Carrie’s is your space to grow. Community is at our core.
The CP+ Transformer 2.0 is a game-changer for your studios. What makes this piece of equipment so revolutionary, and how did it come to life?
The Transformer 2.0 is our secret weapon. I worked with an incredible designer, Grant Delgatty, to create something sleek, powerful, and space-efficient. It folds up to fit in under 5 square feet so it’s perfect for both studios and nontraditional spaces. It lets us bring our high-intensity Pilates method anywhere. We like to say: it transforms you and your space.
You’re deeply involved in supporting individuals with disabilities through Camp Summit. How does that advocacy work influence the culture of your business and your broader mission?
My brother Michael is autistic and non-verbal. He’s one of the biggest inspirations behind everything I do. Supporting individuals with disabilities is deeply personal for me. At Camp Summit, everyone is celebrated for who they are. I want that same spirit in our studios. Our brand isn’t just about aesthetics, it’s about heart, inclusivity, and showing up with compassion.
Many women look up to you as a business leader and wellness role model. What advice would you give to someone looking to turn their personal passion into a thriving brand?
Start messy. Start scared. Just start. I certainly didn’t have a business degree or a perfect plan. But I had passion, and I kept showing up. Surround yourself with people who lift you higher. Invest in your own growth. And never let fear talk you out of your dreams. Don’t ever give up! If I can do it, so can you!
What’s next for Carrie’s Pilates? Are there new cities, innovations, or collaborations we should be watching out for?
We’re just getting started. We’ve got new studios opening in Orange County, Houston, Boston, and Miami and we’re exploring collabs with glam wellness brands I’ve loved for years. We’re also evolving the Transformer for more spaces. Think hotels, gyms, even luxury home setups. Wherever you are, I want Carrie’s Method to meet you there.
