A triumphant  return to the spotlight. “FlyTrap” is a chance for Isis Salam to really flex her lyrical prowess and undeniable skills as an emcee.  As stated in the chorus “Too Fly, not to Fly”. A tour de force return from multi hyphenate artist Isis Salam, which aims the spotlight on her talent for turning out uncategorizable rap tracks which blends soul, funk and pop effortlessly.

Now returning to the spotlight with new project 4U IN LUE OF FLOWERS – An exploration and meditation on “BLK JOY” ,the often contradictory realities facing a  queer non nor-atypical black female artist. “ Black”; commonly associated with the negative and joy being its antithesis.  ISIS SALAM yet again proves her vocal skills, versatility  as well as her playful side with  a sincere  desire for her music to have an impact. Powerful music, as diverse as her story of strife and self discovery.

“Fly Trap has been a track I’ve wanted to share with the world for a while. It may be hard to believe but while living in Berlin I often had to thread the fine line between being confident and therefore “lotted” for my “cool black girl ” factor and “too outspoken” aka angry black woman. The more I thought about it, the more I realized if I had to choose. I’ll take the label of “woman” in any of its representations rather than be someone’s “girl.”
