Tell us about your story as an artist

I grew up in a small town in northern Minnesota, with the sounds of country music always playing in the background. Music was the tool that I used to learn and played at all times of the day. Performing came naturally. I grew up on the stage in theater, church, and school programs. I started writing music, and that became my life. I started performing solo, and that set the path for where I am now! Living, and breathing music. I wouldn’t have it any other way!

What do you think is the most important aspect of your life right now?

The most important aspect in my life right now is overall happiness. I love what I do, I love my family and friends. And the team I have created! Enjoying all the moments, and soaking them in. That’s what it’s all about.

What makes this song special in your opinion?

“Let Me Go”  is special for many reasons. It’s the song that lets you feel heard. It’s validating and it’s big and bold. It’s the song I needed when I was going through breakups. Being able to let it be there for others as they go through life, to me is a blessing.

What inspired this track?

“Let Me Go” was inspired by some not so great ex-boyfriends. Sitting down with the co-writers to this song (Emily Fortney, and Skye Claire) we got to talking about the feeling after a breakup, it’s hard, it’s rough, it’s eye opening. When you enter that new chapter in life, it’s liberating to realize what you’re worth.

What are some of the core messages here?

The core message here is that you are your own human. You are worth the most beautiful things in life, and this is your time to go out and get those things. Be your own superhero, and fix that crown!

How do you think tik tok and social media are contributing to change an artist’s career?

TikTok and Social Media have completely changed the way artists are able to live in their craft. There are still things that are similar to before social media. But the immediate benefit of sharing your music and having it in your audiences hands instantaneously is huge. It’s brought your audience closer to you, and your life. While also bringing the artist closer to their audience, and their lives. It’s also really neat to be able to hear directly from fans. Connecting with them is probably my favorite part!

What excites you about your life?

Something that excites me about my life is the opportunity. The opportunity to do something bigger than myself, and the opportunity to live out all of my goals and dreams day in and day out. Sure, roads can be bumpy sometimes. But there are so many exciting things ahead.

What are some of your core values as a human being?

Some of my core values as a human being are honesty, grace, compassion, joy, love, empathy, and lots and lots of laughter.

What are your projects for this year?

I just released my latest single “Leave” with an accompanying music video, which was very fun to film. I plan on releasing a couple more songs this year, as well as some exciting packages behind each song. I am excited to pursue what I love further, and to get better everyday at my craft! I also have some great shows in the works for this year, so I’m looking forward to hitting the road
