Let’s start from who you are and how you got here
I got here step by step. It took so much work and effort. I will always be thankful to my sponsor Rip Curl Europe which 6 years ago gave me a shot as their micro influencer which gave me a lot of visibility both in Italy and abroad. In the meantime I started collaborating with a few different agencies here in Milan until I found my current one (mm consulting). It’s been such a crazy journey, always unpredictable and filled with surprises. I always keep aiming higher and higher!
What is fashion for you?
Fashion is the most creative part of my life. I was drawn to clothes and runaway shows since I was a kid and I remember I would keep going through Vogue or Cosmo for hours. It’s such an accomplishment for me to be able to be a part of this industry now. Besides, fashion is fun, it’s visionary, artistic, I’m just totally drawn to it all.
What’s your favorite streetwear item?
I’m just crazy for sneakers!
How did you become a surfer?
I started surfing when I was a kid, actually. I grew up right by the sea in Genoa and I had so many friends who surfed already so when I tried it for the first time it was love at first wave! However, I decided to study ballet instead and I danced until I was 24. When I quit I went back into surfing and I felt all the excitement rushing back!
What’s really priceless about it is the fact that you are one with nature and you get to travel all over the world. On top of that, the adrenaline level is so high it’s undeniable!
Who are some of your fashion and style icons?
There are so many icons I was influenced by throughout my life. However there are two main ones: Audrey Hepburn (her beauty is just timeless and unreachable and her style is extremely elegant and classic) and Donatella Versace (amazingly stylish, strong and tenacious woman who was able to continue the work of his brother Gianni and make it immortal).
How would you style an oversized denim shirt?
LOL of course I have one! I have this super cool 80s shirt I bought at a flea market in London (I LOVE the 80s). It’s actually a mens shirt but it’s so oversized that I used it as a dress paired with some texa boots or mules.
What are some values that keep you grounded and balanced?
I just believe love is what keeps everything together I have the most profound respect for every being on this planet (including nature and animals of course) and I treasure family as a core value for me.
What would you want to see changing in today’s fashion and entertainment industry?
There’s still a lot of work to do in the fashion and entertainment industry. First of all, we should welcome different and less traditional kinds of beauty (who really can say what is beautiful?). We need to change the very standards we live and operate by.
What’s a piece of advice who would give to an aspiring creative?
I’d say never stop believing in yourself and disregard what people say. I’ve had people pushing me down constantly over the years but I always kept my head up and believed in what I was doing. I mean dreaming is free isn’t it?
Any fun plans and projects for the summer?
I have a very exciting project almost ready to happen which I’m not going to disclose as I am very superstitious haha but fingers crossed another dream of mine is going to come true! Besides that, I plan on spending my summer surfing new waves with a very special person 😉
